THE WISHES of panto lovers will come true when Aladdin takes to the stage at Rugby Theatre.
The family show opens at the Henry Street theatre from January 9 to 18.
Among those on stage will be Argentinian Josefina Achaval, who sang her country’s national anthem in front of thousands of people at an international rugby match at Twickenham.
Josefina, the partner of Argentinian rugby international Gonzalo Camacho, who plays for Leicester Tigers, will play Princess Say-Wen.
Josefina said: “I can’t wait for first night – though I know I will be very nervous. I’ve sung in front of thousands at big sporting occasions, but I will still get butterflies.”
Director Mike Allen said: “Aladdin is one of my very favourite pantos and to have a big star like Josefina in the show has made it even more special.”
Joining Josefina on stage will be Michele Marsella as Aladdin, Mark Baird as the evil Abanazer, and seasoned dame Steve Bradnam as Mrs Twankey.
Tickets cost £10 or £11 and are available from the website www.rugbytheatre.co.uk/aladdin or the Rugby Theatre box office on 01788 541234.
