RUGBY’S World Cup song will be showcased at a special launch celebration evening at Lawrence Sheriff School on Saturday (September 12).

Rugby Borough Council and Rugby FM have taken on local band Speak, Brother’s song Lions Roar as the town’s official World Cup song.

The single, which is officially launched for sale on Friday (September 11), will head a bill of music and comedy featuring the band performing a special set with friends, as well as some special guests as support acts which are yet to be announced.

The band hosted an event at the Benn Hall as part of the Rugby Festival of Culture to record 400 children singing the song, the results of which appear on the final track.

A music video is also being released which features fans, families and children from primary schools and local rugby clubs singing along.

The event runs from 6-9pm. Visit http://speakbrother.co.uk/lions-launch for tickets and more details.
