Rugby bar to host red-letter day for the blues

Rugby Editorial 10th Dec, 2015 Updated: 27th Oct, 2016   0

WORLD-class session musicians will lead an evening of the blues at the Style Bar’s recently refurbished Loft Room next week.

Imelda May bassist Al Gare, Richard Hawley drummer Dean Beresford and Tinita Tikaram’s guitarist/vocalist Oliver Darling will bring their December mini-tour to the intimate venue next Thursday (December 17).

The trio boast many tours, festivals and performances with other artists including Tom Jones, Pete Williams, King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys, Tony Christie and Jeff Beck – not to mention regular appearances on Jools Holland, BBC Radio 2, Jay Leno (The Tonight Show) and many broadcasts the world over.

It will also be a rare homecoming gig for Rugby-born Al, while local singer-songwriter Eve Singleton will be the support act for the evening, bringing her brand of indie/blues original tunes to the stage.

Tickets will be £6.50 on presale at Style bar, North Street, and www.anotherticket.com or by emailing promoter Robert Low of Awkward Silence promotions at [email protected]. Entrance will be £7.50 on the night. Attendance is strictly limited to 100 guests. The performance begins at 8pm.
