RUSTIC charm and reggae rhythms brought a unique music festival to life in Cotesbach.

The 15th annual Music in the Yard festival filled the village’s quaint Stable Yard with happy revellers who were treated to a wide spectrum of feelgood beats and compelling songwriting.

Blues trio Mojo Hand set heads nodding with their traditional delta blues, before The Mystic Crew saw the crowd kick up some dust with a set of reggae classics.

Brighton’s Normanton Street performed a well-honed set of jazzy hip-hop, and a team of Samba percussionists brought the whole crowd to their feet with their intricate and persuasive beats.

Quirky acoustic folk-pop singer-songwriter Cate Ferris transfixed her audience with her hard hitting lyrics and intricate harmonies – not to mention her compelling ability to seamlessly record, sequence and assemble entire songs live onstage.

Nine-piece contemporary dub reggae act Resonators rounded off the day with a rousing blast of their unique take on Jamaican roots music.
