Brownies go on the beat to get crime prevention badge

CRIMEFIGHTERS passed the baton to a new generation when they helped Brownies achieve their Crime Prevention Badge.

Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) Amie Hextall and Sam Edmunds paid a visit to Abbott’s Farm Infant School’s Brownie group to give a talk.

The PCSOs taught the girls about property marking and how to protect their belongings, and tasked them to design their own property marking poster.

They then spoke about personal and household safety, and explained how Neighbourhood Watch schemes can help communities, before giving badges out to the Brownies.

PCSOs Hextall and Edmunds said: “The girls were excellent company and very knowledgeable about keeping themselves safe. They were very interactive and we didn’t want to leave!”
