DOG owners are being urged to keep their pets on leads near livestock after two sheep were killed in Wolston.

Two sheep were attacked on land off Brandon Lane sometime between 4pm on Wednesday January 27 and 9am the following day. It is thought they were attacked by a dog.

PC Mike Stamp said: “I know Brandon Woods, which is next to where this incident happened, is a popular spot for dog walkers and I would urge anyone out walking to be aware of nearby livestock and to keep their dog on its lead.

“Any stress could also have a major impact on the welfare of the sheep, so please keep an eye on your pets when out and about.”

Anyone with any information about the incident should call police on 101 quoting incident number 82 of January 28.
