FIRE crews were called to Rugby station this morning to free a man who got stuck in a coffee machine.

Officers were alerted to the incident at around 8:30 this morning (Thursday September 15) to free the man – a staff member of Virgin Trains – who had their hand stuck in an on-board coffee machine. The train was due to depart from Rugby on route to London.

Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to free the person’s hand and ambulance crews then took the casualty to hospital to treat the cuts to the person’s hand.

The Observer is waiting on more information on the incident from Virgin Trains.
