A SNEAK preview of an international tourist attraction heading to Rugby has been released.

World Rugby’s Hall of Fame, the new state-of-the-art showpiece for the sport in its birthplace is nearing completion ready for the gala opening scheduled for Thursday November 17 – and designers have released these artist’s impressions.

Housed in the current Rugby Museum building on Little Elborow Street in the town centre, the permanent exhibition will showcase the sport’s Hall of Fame members using the latest HD touch-screen technology.

Almost totally interactive, the free-to-enter installation will also offer visitors a journey through time as the story of the game is told – from its humble origins to its global status today, played by 8million people in 121 countries.

Coun Michael Stokes, Leader of Rugby Borough Council, said: “With just three weeks to go until the World Rugby Hall of Fame opens its doors, it’s great to be able to show residents how it will look.

“The interactive displays have been put together by the company behind the National Football Museum in Manchester and the Richard III experience in Leicester.

“With their knowledge, and with World Rugby’s media archive and Hall of Fame inductees, the World Rugby Hall of Fame will be a truly world class visitor experience here in the birthplace of the game.”

The World Rugby Hall of Fame will open to the public for the first time on Friday November 18 and will then be open seven days a week: 10am-5pm, Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm Sunday. It will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
