A KNIFE-wielding would-be robber forced his intended victim to hide in a newsagent after chasing him.

At around 7.20pm on Sunday October 9, a man – who was with two others – threatened another man with a knife and told him to empty his pockets in the park near to The Griffin public house in Kingsway.

The victim and his friend ran off and were chased by the offender into Kingsway Premier Store and Post Office.

After a brief chase in the store, the victims hid in an office area and the offender left.

No-one was injured during the incident and nothing was stolen.

The offender is described as a white man aged around 25, 5ft 6ins tall, slim to medium build with a dark goatee beard.

He was wearing a dark Adidas tracksuit top with three stripes down each arm and a dark hood covering his hair, dark trousers, and bright blue trainers with white laces.

Detectives investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it, the chase through the park or the store.

Call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident 384 of October 9.
