A FATAL collision between a van and a lorry on the M1 claimed the life of a Rugby woman on Friday morning (July 31).
At about 12.50am, a blue Ford Transit Connect van collided with the back of a white MAN lorry on the northbound carriageway, around one and a quarter miles south of junction 15, near a lane which was closed for roadworks.
The driver of the Ford Transit, a woman from the Rugby area, died at the scene.
The lorry driver, who was from Manchester, was unhurt.

The M1 northbound was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the collision and re-opened shortly before 8am.
