Police seek witnesses after fatal motorway crash near Rugby

A FATAL crash occurred on the M6 in the early hours of Saturday (April 23).

A Ford Fiesta, a Nissan and a Vauxhall Astra collided on the northbound carriageway between junctions 1 and 2 around 4.45am.

An occupant of the Fiesta, a woman in her 30s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services worked at the scene, and reopened at around 2.10pm.




Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw any of the vehicles prior to the incident to call 101 quoting incident number 71 of April 23.

*A 29 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently on bail until June 10.
