A SIXTEEN-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault after police received eight recent reports of women in Rugby being inappropriately touched in public.
The reported incidents – which took place in Bennett Street, Bridget Street, West Leys, James Street, Dale Street, Jubilee Street and Chapel Street – occurred between Sunday September 22 and Wednesday October 7.
The boy has been charged with two counts of sexual assault on a female.
He has been detained in custody and due to be seen at Leamington Magistrates Court today (Friday, October 9).
Investigating officers wish to hear from anyone who may have witnessed these incidents or may have been victims of similar assaults. Call 101 quoting incident 268 of Wednesday October 7.
