A ZOMBIE apocalypse is breaking out in Rugby – and locals are being invited to join the hoards of undead.

New action-horror film Redcon-1 – featuring actors from Desperado, Rush, Peaky Blinders and Coronation Street – is filming in Brownsover today (Friday September 9).

Filmmakers drew crowds of zombies and onlookers to Copeland yesterday (Thursday September 8) to shoot a scene involving eight special forces soldiers with a tank and an armoured humvee going up against a gang of zombies – parts which are open to Rugby residents.

The crew will be in Borrowdale today (Friday September 9) from around 9am.

Production company Apocalypse Pictures sent a letter to Brownsover residents to advise them not to be alarmed when they see the military vehicles and ‘soldiers’ firing blank weapons on their estate.

Anyone interested in being a zombie should call Stuart Black on 0774 634 9309.
