BRANDON will once again host the hugely successful Sidecar Shootout for the second year winning four-time British champion home to taste victory on home soil.
After the huge success of the 2015 Shootout, Heart of England Motorcycle Club will staging a second spectacle at Brandon on Friday September 30.
With a field of national riders and some local favourites, this year’s event is set to be a great night’s racing for all the family.
The field will be headed up by Rugby’s lightning fast Cossar who, after a controversial British Masters where he was forced to settle for second place, Cossar will be keen to stamp down his authority and maintain his reputation as King of the Shale.
Cossar is hoping that his usual passenger, Carl Blyth will be fit for the meeting as he is still recovering from injury after the controversial contact sustained during the British Masters Final.
“It’s important that we ride together,” said Cossar. “I’ve had stand-in passengers since the incident and whilst they do a great job.
“It’s almost impossible to have the same level of handling that you need when riding at these speeds, with no brakes.”
A field of 16 riders will all be gunning for success and there is sure to be some loud, bumper-to-bumper action from the 1,000cc machines.
Entry costs just £10 for adults and children under the age of 16 can enter for free when accompanied by an adult. Gates open at 6.30pm and the first race will be at 7pm.
