NOVICES and experienced triathletes alike will be returning to the Viridian Daventry Triathlon for the fifth time this Sunday to take part in the ever popular sprint distance triathlon.

There will be those dreaming of swimming like Michael Phelps, cycling like Laura Trott and running like Mo Farah, taking part in the spectacle.

Participants will first tackle a 400m swim starting in the Daventry Leisure Centre at 7.30am, followed by the 20km cycle around Daventry and then the conclusion will be a the run around the Daventry Country Park.

Courtesy of Daventry-based race sponsor Viridian Nutrition each and every finisher will receive their very own special medal. A medal that is designed to definitely challenge one from the Olympics.

The course record for Daventry over the sprint distance was set by Jack Bond last year after he finished in a time of 55.04.

The Viridian Daventry Triathlon is organised by Rugby Triathlon Club and is in support of Alzheimer’s Society and PWSA.

If you are interested in taking part in triathlon more information concerning the club’s adult and junior sections can be found at www.rugbytriathlon.org.uk.
