‘MOVED to tears’ – a beloved former headmaster has been honoured for devoting half a century to the Rugby Male Voice Choir.
John Evans, a resident at Overslade House Care Home, was presented with an honorary award by the choir upon being elected as its Vice President for his service and dedication to the choir for over 50 years.
John, the former head of Paddox School, was presented with the award by Mayor Barbara Brown and Mayor’s Consort Elly in front of friends and relatives.
John said: “I was moved to tears and very emotional.
“It is such an honour to know that Rugby Male Voice Choir, my friends and family and Overslade House staff and residents care so much about me.
“I am honoured to now be Vice President of Rugby Male Voice Choir.”
