FATHER Christmas will make his first appearance of the season in Rugby today.
The three Rotary Clubs in Rugby will open Santa’s Grotto today (Sunday November 30) to coincide with the town centre Fire and Ice Spectacular.
Santa and his Elves will be in the Grotto – opposite Shine A Light in Rugby Central Shopping Centre – from 2-6pm.
He will then be in residence between 10:30am and 3.30pm every weekend in December, and also on Monday December 22 and Tuesday December 23.
Entry is free to children accompanied by a responsible adult. Santa will chat to the children for a few minutes and give each child a small chocolate gift or a book. Santa and the elves will be available to pose for photos.
Visitors to the grotto can donate in aid of local charities The OurJay Foundation, Tools with a Mission, the Ukrainian Community in Rugby, Shelter Box and a local women’s refuge.
Project manager Willy Goldschmidt said: “It is great that the three clubs are working together on this and we are delighted to return the Grotto to Rugby Central.
“We are most grateful for the support that we have received from Linda Lowne of Rugby First and the many local companies who have donated gifts for Santa to distribute.”
