Five charged following disorder at Rugby pub

Ian Hughes 29th Dec, 2025   0

FIVE people have been charged and remanded in custody following large-scale disorder at a pub in Rugby on Boxing Day night.

Police attended the Albert Street pub after receiving reports of the disorder at 10.40pm. Witnesses reported violence erupted between two groups of men, some armed with knives.

Det Sgt Matt McGreevy from Warwickshire Police CID said: “We launched an investigation following disgraceful scenes while many people were out celebrating the festive season.

“Fortunately, nobody was seriously hurt and officers on the scene were quick to identify and detain some of those we believe to be involved and seize a number of weapons.

“We are now working hard to identify and locate others involved and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the violence, who has any video footage of it or anyone with other information that could help with our enquiries to get in touch.”

The following men have all been charged with affray and possession of a knife in a public place. They will all appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court today (Monday).
