AN ENTREPRENEUR is teaming up with Rugby’s lifelong learning charity to offer ‘how to’ courses for those wanting to set up a business and for budding authors.
Marketing entrepreneur Lindsay Woodward will deliver the courses at the Percival Guildhouse.
The two courses are part of a new series of events devised by Lindsay’s company, Lindsay Woodward Marketing, linking the Guildhouse with several different partners.
The mix of online and in-person events aims to offer something different in addition to the Guildhouse’s art, craft, wellbeing and educational courses.
In How to Self-Publish Properly, Lindsay guides participants through the process of turning a manuscript into a book, working through the publishing process and demonstrating how to market it properly.
The evening course on Zoom runs for three weeks, commencing on April 14.
The How to Set Up a Business course is a practical guide helping people understand where to start, how to prioritise, and all that needs to be considered before taking the plunge. Lindsay helps participants through the process so that they start with a strong foundation.
This is also an evening course on Zoom running for three weeks from June 4.
Other events in the series include Making a Video on Your Phone – two online sessions starting on May 6 run by Clockwork Eye Video, and Find Your Voice, an in-person course at the Guildhouse run by experienced spoken word and poetry performer Ian Fisermanis, helping people shape, refine and share their stories. The four-week course starts on May 7, ending with the opportunity to perform work at an open mic session at the Rugby Tap.
Starting on May 12, designer and illustrator Rakha Madahar is offering a two-session daytime course at the Guildhouse on Designing Your Own Tea Towel, turning paper collage and pattern design into a unique gift.
