RUGBY’S Travelodge has been refurbished – just four years after opening.

The revamp of all 72 rooms at the hotel on Redpole Road near the train station was completed in just one week as part of a £57million national programme to modernise sites around the country.

Manager Sunny Singh said: “It has totally transformed the hotel, and feedback from our customers has been outstanding.”

COMMUNITY groups have banked more cash in council grants.

Almost £180,000 has been shared among 44 voluntary and community sector organisations from Daventry District Council.

They include £67,500 for Citizen’s Advice Bureau and £22,500 for Daventry Area Community Transport, while £70,000 will fund ten projects district-wide.

Some £10,000 was also shared between 20 local groups and organisations to help them deliver one-off community events.

Two weeks ago we reported how Rugby council shared out just under £245,000 to community grants.
