Festival of Culture gets underway

Rugby Editorial 2nd Jul, 2014 Updated: 27th Oct, 2016   0

THE festival has begun – the Rugby Festival of Culture kicked off on Saturday with shoppers braving a rain-soaked performance by The Paper Street Soap Company on the outdoor festival stage.

A variety of art, music, performance, history, craft, food and drink events will take place in and around the town centre until July 13.

Al fresco entertainment happens on the festival stage outside St Andrew’s Church every lunch time from 11.30am until 2pm.

Meanwhile, our photographer Jon Mullis popped in to the Merchant’s Inn for their Cider Festival, and recovered in time to watch pupils from local primary schools enjoy the fruits of a term’s work by joining Rugby School musicians for a festival service at the school’s chapel.
