A DEDICATED shop assistant has celebrated 30 years working at the town centre’s Wilko store.
A celebration day was held at the shop in honour of Marti Gunn who was given a selection of gifts including champagne, flowers and a cheque before she and her co-workers were treated to a buffet lunch.
Marti, who became a firm favourite with customers after starting her Wilko career as an evening merchandiser in 1984, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my 30 years with the team in Rugby.
“My colleagues have become more like family and they have made this day extra special. It was such a lovely surprise.”
Store manager Jamie Bainbridge said: “This is a huge milestone for Marti and I can’t thank her enough for her dedication to the store.
“Marti is a committed team member and she is extremely valued by the whole team.
“We’ve had a fantastic day celebrating her anniversary and I hope there are many more years to come.”
