Debenhams seeks Rugby hero for September opening

Rugby Editorial 19th Aug, 2015 Updated: 27th Oct, 2016   0

A LOCAL hero is being sought to conduct the grand opening of Rugby’s first Debenhams early next month.

The department store, which will open at 10am on Thursday September 3, has launched a competition to find a worthy Rugby resident to declare the store open.

The winner will be given a makeover before taking centre stage to cut the ribbon at Elliott’s Field Retail Park.

The store is looking for “someone who goes that extra mile in the area, or a member of the local community known and loved by many.”

They are also on the lookout for a local rugby team to help open the store alongside the chosen hero.

Store manager Sam Zeen will be judging the competition and is urging people from the community to nominate worthy winners by sending 150 words on why they should win.

All nominations should be emailed to [email protected] before Wednesday August 26.
