OVER £1000 was raised by friends, family and workmates of a young dad-to-be who died after his bicycle collided with a car.
Sam Davies’ colleagues at the Xercise4less gym dedicated Wednesday’s (January 13) launch day to his memory.
MTV’s Ex on the Beach stars Joss Mooney and Rogan O’Connor joined fitness fanatics at the fundraising event, which raised over £560 – a total which has been matched by the gym.
The money will go towards funeral costs and a trust for Sam’s unborn baby girl, who is due in March.
Club manager Tonya Roberts said: “My team and I have been lucky enough to have worked with Sam and will be forever grateful for the memories that we shared.
“We managed to raise a grand total of £569.00 in memory of Sam, which we will add to the £5,000 total we aim to reach. On behalf of everyone here we’d like to give our condolences to Sam’s family and friends.”
Joss Mooney added: “Rogan and I were honored to be asked to help out at such a touching occasion. It meant a lot for us to be part of the fundraiser and we feel privileged to have been asked, our hearts go out to Sam’s loved ones at this truly difficult time.”
Sam, 24, was rushed to hospital but later died following the accident at the junction of the A4071 and Lawford Road around 8.20am on Friday (January 8).
