Prison for Rugby dealer caught by covert cops

A DRUG dealer has been sent to prison for over two-and-a-half years for conspiracy to supply heroin and cocaine.

Shane Hunt, 26, appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Friday (February 5) where he was sentenced to 32 months imprisonment.

The conviction is the result of Operation Clipper, a covert police investigation led by Rugby Proactive CID which targeted the supply of class A drugs in Brownsover.

Acting on information gathered through a variety of means, the operation centred around Hunt and his home in Betony Road, where he was arrested on July 28 last year and where police seized property that was ‘conducive with drug trafficking’.
