CREATIVE youngsters from Paddox Primary School celebrated Safer Internet Day by picking up a top award.

As part of the day, where children learn how to stay safe online, the school submitted an entry to the Warwickshire ICT Development Service’s Online Safety Story Competition.

The entry, put together by Year Six pupils Sakeenah Alam, Niamh Chalmers, Eliona Seraj and Joe Keenan, came out on top.

They described their award-winning piece Act Your Age as “an animated tale of one girl’s discovery that playing around with online identity is a dangerous game with high stakes.”

The four pupils worked collaboratively through each stage of plot, character development, storyboarding, editing and final voiceover work.

Sakeenah said: “We’re just so excited to have won the award.

“We really want to get the message across that, even though there’s pressure to pretend to be someone else online, it’s more important to be safe than popular.”
