CREATIVE youngsters can get ‘Smart’ with half-term activities at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum.
The SMART programme, a week-long art activities event, launched on Friday (February 12) with a Valentine’s themed Love Heart Hunt, which run throughout the holiday week.
Kids taking part can search for the love hearts hidden throughout the Little Elborow Street venue, with one successful hunter winning a prize.
On Tuesday February 16, a free ‘Kawaii Balloons’ workshop runs from 10.30am until 12.30pm. The drop-in session celebrates the art gallery’s new exhibition – Kawaii, Crafting the Japanese Culture of Cute.
A Masks and Bags workshop on Wednesday February 17 also takes inspiration from kawaii giving children the chance to create cute bags or masks to take home.
Youngsters can step back in time on Thursday February 18 at a free Revive the Romans workshop, making a Roman headdress before exploring the museum’s Roman costume box.
There is also a chance to turn into an archaeologist and piece together a pottery-inspired jigsaw at the session.
The SMART programmes closes with Paint and Glaze sessions on Friday February 19 and Saturday February 20. Kids can paint their own plates, cups and more. Prices start from £8.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all SMART activities.
