HOUSEHOLDS in Warwickshire throw away enough food each year to fill Warwick Castle four metres deep – costing council tax payers around £2 million in disposal costs.
The Warwickshire Waste Partnership urging residents to put food waste in the green wheeled bin, including plate scrapings, meat and bones, bread and pastries, fruit and vegetables and even tea bags.
To help raise awareness of food waste recycling, council chiefs are offering residents the chance to win an Amazon Fire HD8s and other prizes donated by local businesses.
