FA Vase win to be remembered by Rugby Town supporters

FORMER players, coaches, officials and fans of Rugby Town are holding their annual reunion this weekend to celebrate the club’s 1983 FA Vase success at Wembley.

Rugby lifted the trophy thanks to a narrow 1-0 victory over Halesowen Town with Ian Crawley scoring the only goal of the game on April 30.

The landlord of the William Webb Ellis pub in Rugby, Derek Owen and wife Karen, are hosting the event from 3pm this Saturday where there will be hot food available (£5 per person) and All the Kings Horse the band will be playing from 9pm until late.

The festivities carry on into Sunday where lunch and entertainment by Christy Pepper will take place from 5-8pm.
