A PSYCHEDELIC surf-rock band from Los Angeles headline a gig on Saturday March 4.

Taking their influences from the late 60s, The Blank Tapes will play tracks from their LP Ojos Rojos and latest release, Geodesic Dome Piece.

The band is led by founder Matt Adams, who has produced many albums on Burger Records, Antenna Farm and White Noise.

Support comes from Rugby garage/psych/fuzz band A Noble Ghost, comprising The Anteloids’ Ben and Tom Jennings, The Groove Consortium’s Paul Le Keux and Birmingham solo artist Matt Storer.

Also on the bill is Liverpool/London band Weird Sex. Frontman Joey Ackland brings an original blend of electro and punk to their set. The band’s EP Broken Soundtracks will soon be available on Roadkill Records.

Spacemen 3’s Pete Bassman and Paulo’s Hoodoo Jukebox will provide DJ sets.

The gig takes place at the West Indian Club, St Peter’s Road, on Saturday March 4 from 7.30-11pm. Tickets are £5 on the door.
