Save our Bees: speedway fan demo taking place today

Shaun Reynolds 10th Mar, 2017   0

SUPPORTERS of the Coventry Bees are being rallied to show their passion as part of our sister paper The Coventry Observer’s campaign to save the speedway team.

The Observer will be holding a photo-shoot and asking fans’ opinions outside Coventry Stadium in Brandon today (Friday March 10) at 4pm.

Rugby Borough Council leader Coun Michael Stokes has confirmed he will attend.

He said: “I’ve worked with the fans and relevant parties over the past year to secure a future for motor sports at Brandon and, like most, was extremely disappointed the negotiated three year lease was not able to be taken up.

“The Bees have a long and proud heritage in Rugby and I will continue to give my support wherever I can to ensure their survival and their place in the 2018 fixtures.”

Fans can meet outside the main entrance to the stadium, and are politely asked not to enter the grounds of the stadium site, including the car park.

Supporters are encouraged to get to the stadium for 3.30pm, with a group photo taking place between 4pm and 4.15pm.
