Art exhibition given platform at Rugby station

ART celebrating British landscapes will be given an unusual ‘platform’ at Rugby railway station.

Land Marks – an exhibition reflecting on the land, sea and skies of the British Isles – will be stopping off at the station’s former waiting room.

The display – which is part of Warwickshire Open Studios’ (WOS) 2017 Spring Exhibition – will feature 40 paintings, drawings, ceramics, textiles, photographs and sculptures selected by Rugby artist and curator Ije, and fellow artists Neil Moore and Judith Lahye-Cook.

Ije said: “It was an opportunity not to be missed when Virgin Trains allowed us to use this superb space for an art exhibition.

“A selection of the pieces on display will be available to buy, but the hope is that it also challenges people to think about the relationship between the space around them, the artwork and the original inspirations and how they communicate and co-exist.”

The exhibition, which runs from April 7 to 22, is free to view, and people just need to ask at the ticket barrier for access.
