CRICKET: THE NEW cricket season gets underway at Willoughby on Saturday with a double bill of friendly fixtures.
The club’s first team, under the stewardship of captain Simon Nicholls, play host to local friends Oakfield.
That is followed on Sunday by the visit to The Green of another local and longstanding acquaintance in the shape of Bourton & Frankton with both games starting at 2pm.
Willoughby begin their South Northants Cricket League campaign the following week where they will once again be battling in Division One and one better than last season’s third place finish.
Nikesh Mistry is the second team’s new skipper and they will be competing in Division Three having narrowly missed out on a second consecutive promotion last term.
