HAMMER-WIELDING robbers who ransacked a One Stop in Rugby have been jailed.
Daniel Bale, 30, of Avon Industrial Estate, Rugby and Dominic Williams, 32, of no fixed address, targeted the Hillmorton Road store early one morning last November.
The thugs, whose faces were covered, threatened a staff member and used the hammer to force open locked draws.
They were arrested the following day.
Bale and Williams had denied the allegation but were found guilty at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday (May 23).
Bale was sentenced to six years and Williams to seven-and-a-half years.
Det Sgt Ollie Deakin said: “Bale and Williams’ actions were extremely traumatic for the staff involved. We’re pleased that the sentence reflects the severity of the offence and hope that it acts as a deterrent to others.”
A 24-year-old woman arrested as part of the investigation was found not guilty of handling stolen goods.
