GOLF: SALLY Sparrow had an enjoyable bank holiday weekend after winning the Midlands North regional qualifier of the Bridgestone Chase Your Dream Trophy.
The event was held at Elsham Golf Club in Lincolnshire where 112 entrants competed for a place in the national final.
Sally, who plays off 15, said: “It was so exciting to see my name at the top of the leaderboard.
“I had played a practice round, studied the course guide and pro’s comments about how to play the holes – so the preparations paid off.
“I’m really looking forward to the grand final.”
The final will be played in August at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire where Sally will be joined by 60 qualifiers who will compete to be named England’s female Handicap Golfer of the Year.
In addition, the top nine players will play in the Pro-Am of the Bridgestone Challenge at Luton Hoo in September joined by the top 9 players from the men’s competition.
The most successful of these teams will go on to the Pro-Am of the British Masters playing with a star of the European Tour.
