LOW bridge signs were not clear enough for one lorry driver who tried to squeeze his truck through the Mill Road/Murray Road tunnel, tearing off his roof and causing rush hour mayhem on Friday afternoon (September 15).
Surrounding roads were clogged as motorists sought other routes under the railway line, while trains ran at reduced speeds.
Checks to the bridge found no serious damage, and the blockage was clear by around 6.30pm.
