DIALYSIS patients at St Cross hit the jackpot thanks to a donation from the hospital’s fundraising support group.
Some 80 patients of the Ash Dialysis Unit are now enjoying Bingo sessions as they undergo treatment, with equipment donated by Friends of St Cross.
Staff have so far run four bingo sessions, including a seasonal game dubbed Wimbingledon, with another session planned for Halloween.
Chairman of the fundraising group Willy Goldschmidt said: “We can see that this makes a real difference to the patient experience in the unit and how grateful the patients are that members Lisa and Davina came up with the idea, giving up their own time to run the sessions.
“We are hoping that some Friends volunteers could help by running more frequent sessions in future. It would be fantastic if we could attract some new volunteers for this activity. Some donations of small prizes for the sessions would also be much appreciated.”
