AN ACCLAIMED ballet company is bringing one of the world’s best loved classical ballets to the Benn Hall stage this weekend.

The Vienna Festival Ballet will perform Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake on Sunday (March 18).

The story centres around Prince Siegfried. While out hunting, the Prince meets with a flock of swans led by a Queen Swan who is under the evil spell of magician Baron Rothbart.

The Prince falls in love with the Queen of the Swans and tries to free them all – but the magician has a few tricks up his sleeve.

A Vienna Festival Ballet spokesperson said: “This production offers specially designed glamorous costumes and beautiful sets which project colour and vitality to enhance the workings of the dancers, choreographer and the composer.

“The production includes all the essential ingredients to appeal to a wide audience base – from youngsters wishing to see the art of ballet live on stage to those wishing to enjoy an evening offering a good story combined with music and dance.”

Swan Lake takes place at the Benn Hall on Sunday March 18 at 5pm. Visit www.bennhall.com or call 01788 533719 for tickets.
