SUMMER activities for youngsters received a boost after the Rugby Group Benevolent Fund (RGBF) made a £10,000 donation to the Hill Street Centre.
The grant, donated for the third year running, means the centre can offer Rugby’s youngsters something to do every day of the school holidays.
Chair of Trustees Stephen Richards said he was delighted the RGBF had continued to support the ‘much needed’ activity programme.
He said: “As a result of their support, Hill Street Centre has been able to commission a range of activities, delivered by the Rugby Borough Youth Services On-Track and Play Rangers staff.
“As part of the programme in 2017 and this Easter, a group of young people also undertook sponsored walks to the summit of Snowden and raised donations for McMillan Nurses and Children in Need.
“It’s not just about something to do over the long summer, but supporting individual young people to be developed and mentored to be the best they can – and we are all very proud of their achievements.”
Ian Southcott, on behalf of the RGBF, added: “We are delighted to continue to support the great work that Hill Street Centre does in supporting young people from across the Borough.
“We have worked closely with the teams and the staff over the last two years and I know it makes a great difference, so our funding is very well spent.”
