AN office in the dermatology department at St Cross Hospital has been converted into a clinic room to allow consultants to see and treat more patients.
The Friends of St Cross have donated extra equipment to help, including a dermatoscope to help dermatologists examine and monitor patients’ skin conditions, and a dressing trolley.
The donation means consultants no longer have to move equipment between rooms, or wait for it to become available.
Consultant dermatologist Dr Saibal Sanyal said: “Dermatoscopes allow us to look more closely at areas of skin which may be of concern, and so determine what treatment is appropriate.
“Having a dressings trolley close to hand means that we can often proceed straight from diagnosis to treatment, which makes a real difference to the patient experience. I would like to thank the Friends for all the support they have provided for this department over the years.”
