A DIFFERENT kind of yarn will be spun at Rugby’s library when a team of Warwickshire weavers take on a challenge to raise money for the county’s life-saving flying doctors.

Members of the Stratford-upon-Avon Guild of Weavers Spinners and Dyers will take part in the Britspin event outside Rugby Art Gallery and Museum (RAGM) to raise money for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

The national event involves teams of spinners marking National Wool Week by achieve challenges such as innovative yarns or fastest spinning.

The Stratford Guild’s team, named Over the Rainbow, will ‘spin a rainbow’ of yarns by changing colour every half day.

They will start in the RAGM foyer this afternoon (Thursday October 11), and will return on Sunday. On Friday (October 12) and Saturday (October 13) they will be in Tithe Place in Southam, next to the library. Other spinners are welcome to join in.
