Emergency services invited round for tea at Rugby care home

BUSY paramedics, police officers and firefighters can find some respite during their shifts after a care home invited them all round for tea.

Staff at Overslade House have opened up their doors to welcome emergency services staff who don’t always have time to go home or back to their workplace on their breaks.

They will be treated to free food and drink as a way of saying thank you.

Police Community Support Officers Jon Townsend and Stephen Galloway were the first to take up the kind offer.

Overslade House general manager Violetta Baesu said: “To say thank you for all of the great work our emergency services do for us, we are inviting all members of the police, ambulance and fire services to pop in and take their duty break on us for free.

“We are pleased to offer all of our local service workers who stop in tea, coffee, juice, chilled water, homemade cake and biscuits and a healthy selection of fruit. Our facilities include free Wi-Fi and service with a smile, so do stop in and say hi – we would be delighted to see you.”
