THE MAYOR of Rugby wants the town to come together at a charity concert this spring.
Mayor Tom Mahoney has announced the Rugby Comes Together concert will take place at the Benn Hall in early April to raise money for Mind UK and armed forces charity SSAFA – his chosen charities for his year in office.
He joined record label and artist development company Big Help Music’s founder Dutch Van Spall – who will organise the concert – at his Rugby-based Strawhouse Studio to officially launch the event.
A celebration of Rugbeians’ talents, the concert will feature a selection of performers highlighting the town’s diversity, including Tamil Dancers, Rugby Cadets, The Invisible Friends – a choir comprising people with invisible illnesses and disabilities – and Rugby’s Got Talent winner Kieran Taylour.
More acts are due to be announced, including the winner of a forthcoming talent search at the Stag and Pheasant in Hillmorton.
Rugby Comes Together will take place at 7:30pm on Saturday April 6 at The Benn Hall.
