ARTY residents at a Rugby care home have put their talents on display.
Anya Court Care Home opened its new art gallery during an arts and crafts event to coincide with National Care Home Open Day.
This year’s theme, Celebrating Arts in Care, aims to demonstrate how care homes are creative communities.
Residents welcomed the public to view their work, as well as children from Buttercups nursery who joined them and Mayor Bill Lewis in a finger-painting activity. The Mayor also formally opened the art gallery by cutting a ribbon and welcoming visitors inside.
The home’s customer relationship manager Karen Handley said: “The residents have been working hard over the last few months in the Art Club using a variety of media which we are proud to show off in our new Art Gallery.
“It was lovely to have the children from Buttercups here too for some inter-generational artwork too – despite it being very messy!”
Care Home Open Day is an annual, UK-wide event organised by Care England that aims to connect care homes with their communities.
