A MOTHER has been found guilty of murdering her two young daughters within weeks of each other last year.
Louise Porton, 23, of Skiddaw, was found guilty at Birmingham Crown Court today (Thursday August 1) of killing her older daughter, three-year-old Lexi Draper, on January 15 last year, and Lexi’s 16-month-old sister Scarlett Vaughan just over two weeks later on February 1.
She will be sentenced tomorrow morning (Friday August 2).
During a four-week trial, the court heard both girls died as a result of “airway obstruction” after their mother “deliberately interfered with their breathing.”
It was claimed Porton would also “habitually” leave the children alone and would do “whatever she could not to have them with her.”
The girls became a “burden” to her and “got in the way of her doing what she wanted” – which included offering to meet men for sex in exchange for money, the jury was told.
A full report will follow.
