AN INTERNATIONAL development organisation based in Rugby has been praised by a member of the shadow cabinet during a visit to its offices.
Shadow International Development Minister Dan Carden MP visited Practical Action to discuss its work to support communities around the world in developing solutions for agriculture, water and waste management, climate resilience and clean energy.
Mr Carden said: “It’s fantastic to have development organisations like this outside of London to really bring those global issues to local communities.
“Learning about the ways Practical Action approach some of the great challenges faced by the poorest communities globally has been really eye opening for me.”
He was joined by Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Rugby Debbie Bannigan, who said: “I’m proud that an organisation based right here in Rugby does such important work around the world.
“I was pleased to bring Dan here for an engaging discussion around the issues facing some of the poorest communities around the world, and the innovative solutions to those issues.”
