Teenager accused of Halloween murder to stand trial in April

Rugby Editorial 3rd Dec, 2019   0

A TEENAGER accused of killing Rugby man Cain Jackson, who died after being stabbed on Halloween, is to stand trial in April next year.

Mr Jackson, 24, suffered fatal injuries when he was stabbed during an incident in Meadow Road, Rugby, at around 6pm on October 31.

Appearing at Warwick Crown Court, the 17-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, pleaded not guilty to a charge of murdering Mr Jackson.

After he had entered his plea, Judge Andrew Lockhart QC adjourned the case for him to stand trial.

The judge said the trial, which is expected to last for two weeks, will begin on April 20, with a pre-trial hearing taking place at the court in March.

And he remanded the teenager in custody until then.
