A DONATION has been made to the upcoming virtual Glow for Myton fund-raiser.

Housing developer Taylor Wimpey has donated £500 towards the hospice charity event, taking place tomorrow (Saturday October 17).

The annual fund-raiser, which involves a 5km run with a colourful twist, was postponed in spring. Instead the charity – which provides free care to terminally ill patients across Coventry and Warwickshire – is asking supporters to walk, jog or run 5km on or before the event date.

On the evening of the event, participants and supporters are invited by the charity to enjoy a host of virtual entertainment. This will include musical performances, a cocktail making class, a stand up comedian and a Zumba session.

A Taylor Wimpey spokesman said: “Supporting local community events such as the Glow for Myton run means a great deal to us. The hard work and effort put to organise an event, especially currently, is considerable and we are thrilled to hear that the donation has helped to make it happen.”
