Hospice charity inspires kids with fun summer fund-raising ideas

THE MYTON Hospices is offering some fun fund-raising ideas for youngsters this summer.

Young supporters are vital to the charity, now and in the future. Which is why Myton has created two new campaigns with children and young adults in mind to inspire them to hit the fund-raising trail this summer.

Whether supporters want to take on a challenge alone, or in a small, Covid-safe group now restrictions have been relaxed, the new Myton campaigns – Read for Myton and Teddy Bear’s Picnic – are the perfect way for youngsters to get involved.

Through its Teddy Bear’s Picnic campaign, Myton is asking families, nurseries, parent and toddler groups and young school children to lend a huge helping paw by hosting their very own picnic and donating a small amount of money to the cause.

For those kind enough to sign up, Myton will provide them with a poster to promote their picnic, along with some fun activities for the children to take part in, including colouring, a teddy bear quiz and pin the nose on Monty the Myton bear.

The charity’s second offering – Read for Myton – is an open invitation to young bookworms to take on a ‘novel’ way of raising money.

Read for Myton is a fun way for children to get involved with fundraising, turning their enjoyment of books into vital money for the hospices by completing their very own Readathon.

Every entrant will receive a fundraising pack including a sponsor form, a chart to tick off as you read your books, a fun word search and a book review template

It costs £2 to sign up to the event, which can be done at any time over the summer.

But Myton hopes everyone taking part may be able to get their efforts sponsored by friends and family to help boost the fund-raising.

Clare Cropp, fund-raising manager at The Myton Hospices, said: “After what has been a hugely difficult year for everyone, we hope these two new campaigns will offer a fun way for our hugely important young supporters to raise money for Myton and help us continue to provide our care, free of charge, to people across Coventry and Warwickshire with a life-limiting illness.”
