Region's NHS Trust appoints new Chief Nursing Officer

A NEW Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) has been appointed by Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT).

The Trust has appointed Mary Mumvuri – an experienced clinical and quality improvement leader with expertise in mental health and learning disabilities nursing – to the role.

Mary has held several senior positions including nursing leadership, clinical governance and quality improvement roles across both community and inpatient settings.

Most recently, Mary has been at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust where she held the position of Executive Director of Nursing, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Quality, and was seconded to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as National Professional Advisor for mental health nursing.

She said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Trust and look forward to working to improve patient outcomes and ensuring the provision of the highest quality of care for those in our community.”

CWPT Chief Executive Mel Coombes MBE said: “We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Mary to the position of Chief Nursing Officer. Mary has an extensive knowledge of mental health services having worked in a number of mental health and learning disability provider Trusts, which makes her a perfect addition to the team.

“Mary has strong values of fairness, transparency and equality which shape her leadership style. She is passionate about ensuring the provision of the very best care possible through the development of staff capability.”

Mary Mumvuri will join the Trust in early 2022.
